Colours of Autumn I

The weather today was simply beautiful, the sun was shining and there were no clouds on the sky and it was really beautiful view when I looked at all those colourful trees and bushes behind the house. I just couldn’t waste this great opportunity to take photos full of yellow, orange and red colours, which are typical colours for this season.

Summer Flowers

Walk in a forest is a good way how to escape really hot weather with temperatures above 39°C. It wouldn’t be me if I didn’t take some photos there. The forests near village Bedřichov in Jizerske Mountains in the Czech Republic are full of beautiful flowers.

These foxgloves (Digitalis) grew near path and were quite easily accessible. Also it was the first time I saw white foxglove, every other foxglvoe that I have seen before have been pink and white. I find this colour variation very nice.

These small yellow flowers contrasted with green leaves on the ground and that made them very noticable.

Beautiful Lichens

Lichens are made up of two or more closely interacting organisms, first one is a fungus, the other one is an alga and/or cyanobacteria. Alga and cyanobacteria in this relationship are called photobionts. The fungus itself is not capable of photosyntesis that would provide it with energy and because of this, it needs the alga or cyanobacteria. On the other hand, the fungus provides optimal living conditions for a long term, stable association with their photobionts.

Lichens may be used, among other, as a dye and when I look at these photos, it doesn’t suprise me.

Flowers in Detail

This weekend I had a small celebration of my nameday and I got a lot of lovely flowers. Now, they are in a vase on my table and I couldn’t resist taking some macro photos.

Firstly, the gerberas, which are my favourite flowers, especially yellow and red ones. To me, they look very cheerfull and the yellow ones are like small happy suns that I can have in vase on my table and they are brightening the day for me. Also, if you look really closely, there are thousands of small yellow petals in the center but their colour is shifting to the orange and it looks like fire.

Then there were white chrysanthemums. These flowers are very beautiful, they look like they are just white but then, if you look closely, they are green… ish in the center.

And finally a lovely pink rose which might look a bit abstract in detail.

All those beautiful flowers are starting to wilt. It always make me a bit sad when something so nice and lovely is lasts only few days. But at least I have those photos to reming me of the flower’s beauty.
